Friendship.chat is a free text chat website for adults aged 18 and over who want to meet new people online. You can join a shared public lounge with a nickname, reply to a conversation, or invite someone to talk privately. No email address or download is needed to get started.

A free chat room, right in your browser

Open the website on your phone or computer, choose an available nickname, and say hello. Read the room, share an interest, or ask a question. Messages in the public lounge are visible to signed-in members.

Private conversations by invitation

Tap a member’s name to send a private chat request. You can send one introduction; more messages unlock when the other person accepts. Private conversations are limited to their participants, with reported content available for administrator review.

Meet people at your own pace

There are no calls or video requests. You choose which conversations to join and which private requests to accept. Block a member or report a message when something is not right.

How to start chatting

  1. Choose a unique nickname using 3–20 letters, numbers or underscores.
  2. Confirm you are 18 or older and read the community rules and privacy notice.
  3. Join the general lounge and start a conversation, or send a private hello to a member.

Is Friendship.chat free?

Yes. The current website offers the public lounge and private text messaging without a subscription.

Do I need an email address or an account?

No email or password is required. The website creates a guest identity in your browser and reserves your nickname for that identity. Signing out, clearing browser data, or switching devices loses access to that guest identity and its private chats.

Is this a random chat or a one-to-one matching service?

You can meet strangers through the shared public room and choose whom to message. Friendship.chat does not automatically pair you with a random person, and does not offer video or voice calls.

Can I make online friends here?

You can meet people and get to know them through conversation. Start with shared interests, respect boundaries, and remember that someone’s nickname does not verify their identity. Friendships take time; activity and availability vary.

Who can read my messages?

Public lounge messages are shared with signed-in members. Private messages are restricted to the participants, except reported content that an administrator can review. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Never send passwords, money, or sensitive personal details.
