Meet new people online, one conversation at a time

Making an online friend often starts with a small, ordinary question. In Friendship.chat’s public lounge, you can talk to people you have not met before, reply to a shared topic, and decide together whether to continue privately. You do not need an email address to join.

Start with a question people can answer

A simple hello is welcome. A little context makes a reply easier: “What’s one song you keep coming back to?” or “I’m looking for a good weekend movie. What would you recommend?” Ask about interests rather than someone’s location, phone number, or personal life.

Listen before moving to a private chat

Read the lounge and join a topic that interests you. If a conversation feels comfortable, tap the other person’s name and send one private introduction. They choose whether to accept. A request is an invitation; it does not create an obligation to reply.

Good first messages

Let a friendship grow at its own pace

A good conversation is mutual. Share a little, ask follow-up questions, and give people time to answer. Avoid repeated messages if someone is quiet. You can leave a conversation without explaining, and the other person can too.

Know the limits of a guest identity

Your nickname belongs to a browser-based guest identity. It is not a verified real name. Clearing your browser data, signing out, or changing devices loses access to that identity. Do not assume a new guest with a familiar-sounding name is someone you already know.

Friendship.chat is a text-only community for adults. It has a shared room and optional private requests; it does not automatically match random pairs or guarantee that another member is online.
